OPPO R9 Black
In 2016, OPPO asked me to create a video commercial for OPPO R9’s new “雪岩灰” (Snow Rock Gray) black edition. As the project serves to push for a new color variant instead of an entirely new product, I got more creative freedom compared to previous mobile phone projects that required lots of close-up descriptive shots. This is the first time that I experimented with mixing 2D and 3D motion elements,
playing with color and rhythm, and used the mountain element at the climax of the film to emphasize the new color. The final result gave OPPO a new perspective about how a phone commercial can be made. Many styles in the video gradually became part of OPPO’s brand identity.
